Build-A-Bear recalls $865K worth of toys on choking fears

Posted online
Build-A-Bear Workshop is recalling nearly 35,000 stuffed animals after they were discovered to pose a choking hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.

Made in China, the Starbrights Dragon toys sold for around $25 apiece.

The issue is that the satin seam of the stuffed animals could open and expose the inside stuffing, creating a possible choking hazard.

Between April and August, about 33,600 of the toys were sold in the U.S., and another 1,000 in Canada.
