Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett resigned as a trustee of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Buffett cited previous decisions to exit corporate boards other than Berkshire.
Buffett also announced he would donate $4.1 billion worth of Berkshire stock to five foundations, including the Gates Foundation. Buffett in 2006 pledged to give away all of his Berkshire shares through annual gifts to foundations.
