Buffett donates nearly $2.9B to Gates, family charities

Warren Buffett, the billionaire chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, donated another roughly $2.9 billion worth of shares in his company to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and four family charities.

The donation marks Buffett's 11th annual giveaway.

The Gates Foundation received 14.96 million of the 19.61 million shares donated.
