Buffalo YMCA gets NAP tax credits

The Ozarks Regional YMCA was awarded $84,250 in Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits to use in Dallas County, the Missouri Department of Economic Development announced Wednesday.

The Ozarks Regional Y plans to use the in tax credits to raise money to build the Dallas County Area YMCA branch in Buffalo. Plans call for a facility that will offer child care, teen academic and social programs, and health and wellness services and educational opportunities for adults.

The NAP system provides partial state tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved community improvement projects, according to the DED. Businesses can donate cash, supplies, services, real estate or investments, and credits can equal up to 50 percent of the total amount contributed, with up to 70 percent available in rural areas.
