Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown has put the deadline on hold, according to an Associated Press report, while Bass Pro officials handle high customer demand for heating equipment and camping gear at its Springfield headquarters. Brown also says talks about a Buffalo store have been moving forward since he imposed the 30-day deadline in December, and he doesn’t want to stall the momentum.
The outdoor retailer first announced its plan to enter Buffalo in 2004, with a vision for the city’s Memorial Auditorium. Talks now are concentrated on finding another site within the city, possibly along the Buffalo River.
