Buckingham Palace, home to Queen Elizabeth II, is being refurbished to the tune of $456 million.
The British government cited “a serious risk of fire, flood and damage" for the renovation that will take 10 years to complete after it starts in April.
Buckingham Palace became a royal residence when George III bought it in 1761. It was built in the early 1700s.
