Plastic packaging systems manufacturer Buckhorn Inc.'s Springfield operation has earned certification in the state's Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.
Presented today by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, the award recognizes companies with 250 employees or less that operate effective safety and health management programs, according to
Labor.MO.gov.
Julie Gibson, acting director of the Missouri Labor Department, Occupational Safety and Health Administration representatives and Buckhorn staff were on hand this morning for a presentation ceremony at the company's operations facility in the Partnership Industrial Center, 2727 N. Partnership Blvd., according to a news release.
During the third quarter, Buckhorn garnered attention with its lease of 120,000 square feet of space at the former Solo Cup plant on North Glenstone Avenue. The long-term lease represents the first tenant in the main building at 1100 N. Glenstone Ave. since the plant closed in March 2011, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
Buckhorn set up shop Sept. 1, a move that consolidated two 50,000-square-foot warehouses in north Springfield. The company has no plans to move from its facility in PIC.[[In-content Ad]]
