BRS CPAs & Advisors announced the hiring of 40-year local accountant Jim Lewis.
Lewis joined the company this month as a certified public accountant and financial adviser in its tax and wealth management departments, according to a news release.
He comes to BRS CPAs from McCullough and Associates LLC, where he worked nearly three years as a financial adviser. Prior to that, he served for nearly 36 years at KPM CPAs PC, most recently as managing shareholder, according to his LinkedIn profile.
In 2016 when he was a managing shareholder at KPM, Lewis was a recipient of Springfield Business Journal's Men of the Year award.
A Leadership Springfield graduate, Lewis is a former board member of the organization and a recipient of the O. Franklin Kenworthy Award for Outstanding Leadership, according to past reporting. He's also sat on the boards for United Way of the Ozarks, Springfield Business Development Corp., Cents of Pride and Ozarks Food Harvest Inc.
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC gained new ownership; The Wok on West Bypass opened; and Hawk Barber & Shop closed on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark.
