The Brown Derby Wine Center is getting a significant remodel that includes the addition of a store from Harrison, Arkansas-based Nature's Wonders.
Construction is slated to start tomorrow on the remodeling project at 2023 S. Glenstone Ave., according to a news release. The store will be temporarily closed during the work, with a grand reopening expected by late spring or early summer. The Brown Derby Wine Center is open through 10 p.m. today, a store official said.
"This exciting collaboration brings together two trusted Ozarks brands to create an unmatched shopping experience for the greater Springfield community," Brown Derby officials said in the release. "Guests can look forward to a thoughtfully integrated space that combines Brown Derby's world-class wine and gourmet offerings with Nature's Wonders' commitment to natural living."
Nature's Wonders, with a location apiece in Harrison and Branson, offers organic and local produce, vitamins and supplements, and groceries, among other products, according to its website. The company was founded in 1994.
The release indicates the remodeled Brown Derby Wine Center and Nature's Wonders store would additionally have an updated Brown Derby liquor store with an expanded product line, an upgraded deli with more seating, an outdoor patio and bar, and collaborative spaces shared between Brown Derby and Nature's Wonders.
The Brown Derby Wine Center has been located along South Glenstone Avenue since 1995 after originally opening on what is now Bass Pro Shops' parking lot in 1970, according to the release.
Greene County assessor records indicate the 25,000-square-foot building is owned by KHH Holdings LLC.
