The British government is moving to inject capital into the restaurant industry by subsidizing a portion of bills at eateries.
Customers at participating restaurants will see up to $12.57 of their bill paid by the government if they eat out between Monday and Wednesday.
The British government expects the program will protect 1.8 million jobs. Some 130,000 businesses are thought to be eligible.
