British Airways retires entire 747 fleet

British Airways is retiring its entire Boeing 747 fleet due to the economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline has 31 of the jumbo jets in its fleet, making it the largest operator of the 747 aircraft.

The company had planned to retire the planes in 2024 but moved up the date due to the pandemic.
