British Airways grounds flights as pilots strike

British Airways canceled most of its flights as pilots went on a 48-hour strike over pay.

Officials with the company said they're ready to negotiate with Balpa, the pilots' union. Affected customers also will be issued a refund or have the option to rebook their flight.

“We understand the frustration and disruption Balpa’s strike action has caused our customers. After many months of trying to resolve the pay dispute, we are extremely sorry that it has come to this," British Airways officials said in a statement.
