The hatchery bridge at Roaring River State Park near Cassville will soon undergo repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' MissouriLink, repairs on the bridge will begin Sept. 17 and should be completed in time for the March 1, 2002, opening day of trout season.
The bridge crosses Roaring River and leads to the trout hatchery.
The project will entail rebuilding half of the bridge which has deteriorated on the downstream side. Parking spaces for visitors with disabilities will be added next to the bridge, and a sidewalk will be built on both sides of the river to allow easier fishing access. The cost of the project is $472,964. The general contractor for the work is G & G Construction Co. of Carthage.
