H&M is coming to Battlefield Mall.
The clothing retailer plans to occupy roughly 20,000 square feet across from Old Navy, according to a news release from mall officials. Located between Zales and Spencer Gifts, the space had been home to tenants including Trinkets and Visionworks. Those stores have been relocated nearby, according to a map of Battlefield Mall at Simon.com.
H&M is slated to open this fall and add 20 employees to its U.S. workforce of 16,000 people.
Officially Hennes & Mauritz Inc., Sweden-based H&M is known for its “fashion-forward apparel” for women and men, according to the release. The retailer operates more than 566 stores nationwide and some 5,000 locations internationally.
The Springfield debut comes nearly two years after H&M launched in 21,000 square feet at the Branson Landing, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Battlefield Mall recently announced women’s jewelry and fashion retailer Versona would take over the vacant Charming Charlie space. The mall’s 2018 occupancy rate was 92.1%, SBJ previously reported.
A 2023 Harvard Business Review study suggests significant positive changes when employees take sabbaticals, including greater self-clarity and management confidence.
