Breaking New Ground

Gov. Matt Blunt and First Lady Melanie Blunt are among area leaders who turned shovels at the Oct. 17 groundbreaking for the new Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks, 2750 W. Bennett St.

The 9,000-square-foot facility is a project of The Junior League of Springfield, which will staff the nursery with volunteers. The facility, scheduled to open in April, will offer residential care for children up to age 12, as well as education, support and training services for families in crisis.[[In-content Ad]]
