Brazil's 'Iron Man' miner killed in plane crash

Roger Agnelli, who transformed a state-controlled mining outfit into one of Brazil's top companies, has been killed in a plane crash.

The 56-year-old was traveling in a small aircraft that crashed on Saturday shortly after taking off from Sao Paulo. Six other people, including Agnelli's wife and two children, also were killed.

Agnelli took control of mining giant Vale in 2001, shortly after the Rio de Janeiro-based company was privatized.
