Brazil loses millions of jobs amid political crisis

Brazil's economy is spiraling out of control as a political crisis is pushing the country's president towards impeachment.

The country's unemployment rate moved up to 10.2 percent between December and February. That's the same level the U.S. jobless rate during the Great Recession.

During the past year, 3 million more Brazilians became unemployed, increasing the total to 10 million.

The downturn and political scandals are sparking mass protests in Brazil, which is about 100 days out from hosting the Summer Olympics in Rio.
