Raeanne Presley, co-owner of Presley’s Country Jubilee, announced Tuesday that she will run for the elected position, which goes to a vote April 3. Presley is the only candidate so far who will run against incumbent Mayor Lou Schaefer, who is seeking his seventh consecutive term. He has been in office since 1995.
Presley served as a Branson city alderwoman from 1985 to 1995, and also recently completed six years on the Missouri Tourism Commission, including two years as chairwoman.
Presley previously chaired Skaggs Community Health Center’s Board of Directors and was the founding chairwoman of Skaggs Foundation. She has served as chair of the Springfield-Branson National Airport Board of Directors and the Council of Churches of the Ozarks.
If elected, Presley says she'll stay on as co-owner of Country Jubilee.
"I do some sales conventions that I attend, and I probably will attend less of those," she said, "but basically my role will stay the same with the theater."[[In-content Ad]]
