The city of Branson has selected two finalists to fill its recently vacated administrator post.
Finalists Bill Malinen most recently served as city manager of Roseville, Minn., and finalist David Mitchem is town manager of Pagosa Springs, Colo., according to a news release.
In
April, five-year city Administrator Dean Kruithof announced his resignation, indicating he would relocate due to his wife's acceptance of a job in northwest Arkansas. Kruithof's last day was Sept. 6, and City Clerk Lisa Westfall is serving as interim city administrator, according to the release.
Second interviews were held Friday and today, according to Branson Economic Development Director Garrett Anderson.
"Each of our finalists has demonstrated the ability and qualifications to be an excellent city administrator for the city of Branson," Mayor Raeanne Presley said in the release. "Our next step is to introduce them to the department directors and some of the key community leaders that will be working with the new administrator, and hear their feedback."
The final decision rests in the hands of the Branson Board of Aldermen, Anderson said, noting the board has not set a timeline for selection. The board's next
meeting is scheduled Sept. 24.
