Skaggs Community Health Center welcomes two new physicians to its staff: Neurologist Dr. V. Kent Cooper and Dr. Mouhammed Kabbani, an epilepsy, stroke and headache specialist. They join Dr. Diane Cornelison at Branson Neurology and Pain Center.

Cooper, who is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and earned biology and medical degrees from the University of Missouri in Columbia, was named medical director of Skaggs Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Unit. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in neurology at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Prior to coming to Skaggs, he practiced neurology in the Kansas City area for 13 years. He also has served as adjunct assistant professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center and is a regular presenter on seizure and convulsive disorders at the American Academy of Family Practice Board Review held each spring in Kansas City.

Kabbani is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with subspecialties in clinical neurophysiology and vascular neurology. He earned his medical degree from the Aleppo University School of Medicine in Syria, where he also completed an internal medicine residency. He continued his postgraduate clinical training with an internship at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Mich., a neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at State University of New York Upstate Medical University at Syracuse, and a fellowship in stroke and cerebrovascular diseases at the University of Rochester in New York.

Scott Jacobson was promoted to vice-president of consumer lending for Ozark Mountain Bank of Branson. Jacobson started at the bank a year ago, after working one year as a personal banker and one year as a mortgage assistant for area banks. Jacobson also taught high school business courses for 13 years, most recently at Hollister High School.

Jacobson holds a Master of Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.
