Branson Mayor Raeanne Presley has made her selection to fill a vacant spot on the Branson Board of Aldermen, and a vote on the choice is expected Tuesday night.
Presley tapped Branson banker Mike Booth to fill the Ward 1 seat vacated by Stan Barker, who resigned from the board in November after announcing he was moving out of the city.
A special board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the regular board meeting, to vote on the appointment. If approved, Booth would serve until the April 6 municipal election, when Barker's term expires.
Booth is senior vice president of lending at Ozark Mountain Bank and has served for 12 years on the Branson R-IV Board of Education, including six years as president. He has a business degree from Missouri State University.
Booth also has been a member of the Ozarks Technical Community College Advisory Board; the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau Economic Development Committee; the Taney County Community Foundation Board; and the Branson/Hollister Noon Rotary Club.[[In-content Ad]]
