Branson Landing fountains – Branson

Posted online
Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. is the structural engineer for the fountain and boardwalk for HCW Development Co. LLC’s and the city of Branson’s Branson Landing development. John Miller, PE, SE, of Butler, Rosenbury is the partner-in-charge for the design, working with Ben Jennings, PE, and James Ouellette, EIT. Wet Design of Universal City, Calif., designed the water feature. The fountains at Branson Landing serve as a centerpiece for the development and comprise five large elements and 15 fire towers that will be used during performances. Challenges included the coordination of show elements with Wet Design and designing the foundations for various lake levels. The boardwalk, which wraps around the fountain, comprises 500 lineal feet of pedestrian walking surface. It is constructed of concrete, steel and wood decking supported on a steel framework and concrete piers. Working with the contractor team of Killian Construction and Turner Construction to develop a practical method of pier construction presented one of the challenges to the boardwalk, slated for completion in the spring.
