Some see the $420 million, 95-acre development on the Lake Taneycomo waterfront adjacent to downtown as the herald of a new age. They believe the Landing will draw convention business and a younger demographic, creating an economic tide that will lift all boats.
Others see a prohibitively expensive project that will create unprecedented traffic problems and ultimately kill the historic central business district. They feel the project has already dealt a grievous blow to downtown by demolishing the lakefront resorts that once provided a steady stream of customers.
But advocates and opponents agree on one thing: The Landing is changing downtown Branson.
