Branson housing summit postponed for second time

Posted online
The Work Force Housing Summit scheduled for Friday in Branson has been postponed to an undetermined date, organizers with the Taney County Industrial Development Authority said Monday.

This is the second time the summit date has moved. A Feb. 21 session at Presleys’ Country Jubilee Theater session was canceled due to a severe ice storm.

Dawn Erickson, Taney County’s interim director of economic development, said in a news release the event would be held when speakers’ and panelists’ schedules can be coordinated – hopefully in June.

“We plan to recreate the original list of speakers on state, national and local levels as well as panelists who can present a broad picture of housing needs in Taney County,” Erickson said in the release.

Representatives of the Missouri Housing Development Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development were expected to attend, as were state and local government officials and building industry professionals. For more information, call (417) 546-7205.[[In-content Ad]]
