Brian and Heather Burney, owners of Branson Drug, will open a third pharmacy in January at Hollister Plaza, west of U.S. Highway 65 in Hollister.
Brian Burney said Branson Drug, with locations in downtown Branson and at Skaggs Outpatient Center, is leasing 3,000 square feet of retail space from Gage Properties.
The commercial and residential growth in south Hollister near Highway 65, caught Burney’s attention as a prime location for his third store.
“There’s a lot of new people – a lot of draw to Hollister,” he said. “With all the new businesses going in, we’re excited to be a part of the area.”
Burney said the new full-line pharmacy will include a compounding facility – something lacking in the Branson market since Family Discount Drug closed. “With compounding, we can tailor-make certain pharmaceuticals,” he said.
Burney said once building permits are approved by the city of Hollister, renovations will begin.
The new pharmacy will have six employees, including pharmacist Jennifer Essary, who was hired in July.
