A Branson developer is working on a $90 million project in Kansas.
Woodstone Properties LLC this month reached a development agreement with the government of Edgerton, which is located about 40 miles southwest of Kansas City, according to a news release.
"This new development will provide amenities for our community that we either haven’t had in many years or have never had before," Edgerton Mayor Donald Roberts said in the release.
Woodstone committed to completing a travel center, at least one hotel, a quick-service restaurant and a casual dining eatery by the end of 2025, according to the release. Edgerton is located along Interstate 35.
Construction is expected to begin by next summer.
The project joins Woodstone's portfolio that totals more than $350 million worth of residential, commercial and resort projects, according to the release. Led by President Shannon McMurdo, Woodstone's local portfolio includes Stormy Point Village in Branson, a Great Southern Bank branch in Nixa and the McDaniel School project in Springfield, according to its website.
The deal with the city of Edgerton involves tax increment financing, according to documents provided by public-private economic development partnership ElevateEdgerton!
