Branson Convention Center names general manager

Posted online

Operators of the Branson Convention Center hired Angie Teel as the next general manager of the 220,000-square-foot property adjacent to the Branson Landing shopping district and Lake Taneycomo.

According to a news release from ASM Global, the convention center’s contracted property management firm, Teel comes from Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was assistant GM for Cox Business Convention Center since 2019. Including her work as event services director at the St. Charles Convention Center outside St. Louis, officials say Teel has experience winning NCAA athletic bids and hosting USA sporting events, as well as statewide and corporate conferences.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to join the ASM Global team here at the Branson Convention Center," Teel said in the release. "Branson is such a lively and fun destination, and I'm really looking forward to working with our talented crew and continuing to make this place the go-to event hot spot. We're all about crafting amazing experiences, sprinkling some magic into our clients' and guests' lives, and giving the local economy a boost all year round."

According to Branson Tri-Lakes News reporting earlier this year, the Branson Convention Center turned a profit in 2022 for the first time in its history. The facility was constructed by the city of Branson in 2007 at a cost of roughly $50 million, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

The release indicated Teel is a certified meeting professional through the Event Industry Council, a designation she’s held since 2011, and is an active member of the International Association of Venue Managers. According to Teel’s LinkedIn profile, she’s worked in event sales and promotions since 2004 and holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from Missouri State University.

She succeeds Sam Voisin, who served in the role 2020 through August of this year, according to the center’s sales and events director, Jordan Cannefax. Voisin’s LinkedIn profile indicates he now works as president and chief operating officer of Notes Live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The center is one of 350 properties managed by ASM Global, including arenas, stadiums, exhibition centers and performing arts venues.
