Faith Community Health in Branson announced a capital campaign as it prepares to move to a new headquarters.
The 12-year-old not-for-profit organization, which provides income-based primary care, mental health, vision and prescriptions for the medically underserved in Stone and Taney counties, is seeking to raise roughly $100,000 in under 60 days, according to a news release. About half of the funds already have been raised.
"The cost to renovate the site was not anticipated in our annual budget," said Anne McGregor, interim executive director of Faith Community Health, in the release. "We believe that FCH serves the entire community by serving with excellence the working underinsured. The move to a new location will only enhance FCH’s presence in that effort."
Faith Community Health's capital campaign would pay for infill work and moving expenses, said Stephanie Young, executive administrative assistant, via email. She noted the building would be leased.
The building is at 1232 Branson Hills Parkway off U.S. Highway 65. The organization has been in its current home at 610 S. 6th St. since 2010. The expected move-in date is Jan. 1, 2023, Young said.
"Our current building was in need of repairs and maintenance with the investment outweighing the benefits," McGregor said in the release. “Our board made the good decision to pursue options elsewhere and prioritized location and convenience.”
Tea Bar & Bites Bakery & Cafe changed ownership; the Springfield-Greene County Health Department relocated one of its clinics; and a Joplin real estate investment organization affiliated with a national trade group formed the Springfield Real Estate Investors Association.
