The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau is turning to a familiar face to lead the organization on an interim basis.
The chamber board voted March 3 to appoint Jonas Arjes as interim president and CEO, according to a news release.
The decision comes as two-year leader Jason Outman makes his exit.
"There is a Branson chamber/CVB policy in place to navigate this transition period. A search committee will be formed, and at the appropriate time, the process will begin to fill the position," officials said in the release. "The Branson chamber/CVB team will report to Arjes during the transition period and will continue to drive the tourism industry and community business efforts forward."
Arjes is executive vice president and chief economic development officer for the Branson chamber, as well as executive director of the Taney County Partnership, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also led the Branson chamber as interim president and CEO between the tenures of Jeff Seifried and Outman.
The Branson chamber, 4100 Gretna Road, has scheduled a reception for Outman at 2 p.m. March 10, according to the release.
Evergreen Hair House opened; the Ozark Chamber of Commerce moved to a new home; and Dirk’s Tavern LLC got its start on C-Street.
