Branson Building Show

Posted online
The Feb. 9–11 Branson Tri-Lakes Building & Home Show attracted about 135 vendors and 5,500 people to Chateau on the Lake in Branson. The show moves to the Branson Convention Center next year (click here for the story).

At right, Greg Hanks, territory manager of 35 southwest Missouri counties for Stihl Inc., says his dealers sold 4,800 chainsaws in the Springfield area in the two weeks following the January ice storm. He expects one or two more months of good sales. “There’s still a lot of stuff out there to cut,” he said.

At bottom left, Laila Petersen, left, of Springdale, Ark.-based Petersen Granite & Marble and Linda Farris of Hollister-based Tri-Lakes Flooring share booth space.

At bottom right, Tyler Lorance, left, broker-salesperson for the Saddlebrooke community between Springfield and Branson, talks with Branson resident Pete Waldo. “We’ve admired it from a distance,” Waldo said after lining up a tour of the community.

Lorance, the son of Saddlebrooke community developer Clyde Lorance, said the developers are planning a $1 million waterfall feature at the Highway 65 entrance.

Of the 400 lots sold, there are 70 homes finished or under construction, according to Lorance.
