Branson board approves CID for retail development

Posted online
The Branson Board of Aldermen has approved a community improvement district for the planned 57-acre Tanstone Plaza commercial development adjacent to Tanger Factory Outlet Center.

The CID designation would allow developer Tanstone Group LLC to impose a 1/2-percent sales tax within the district. Revenue generated would pay for sewer and water infrastructure, the realignment of steep Forsythe Road, and improvements to the Highway 76 and Roark Valley intersection.

The project calls for mixed-use commercial and retail space. Construction is under way.

Also approved by the board this week was the hiring of Jefferson City lobbyist R.J. Scherr and Associates. The firm has a five-year contract for $28,800 annually.
