Branson Airport is adding nonstop service to Shreveport, La., just in time for the Christmas season.
ExpressJet Airlines will operate the flights from Branson to Shreveport, which begin in November and run through the end of the year to coincide with Branson's Ozark Mountain Christmas celebration.
The flights will run three times a week, and prices start at $59 one-way, not including taxes or fees. ExpressJet service will utilize 50-seat Embraer 145 regional jets.
"We are extremely pleased to offer the people of Shreveport convenient, nonstop, affordable jet service to experience Branson during the holiday season," said Jeff Bourk, Branson Airport executive director, in a news release.
The airport also plans to announce a second holiday-charter destination in coming days.
Shreveport marks the fourth destination for the Branson Airport; Sun Country Airlines flies to Minneapolis and Dallas, while AirTran currently flies to Atlanta. AirTran dropped its service to Milwaukee in July as part of a companywide reduction in flight numbers.
A food truck that launched last year rebranded and moved to Metro Eats; automotive repair business Mitchem Tire Co. expanded its Christian County presence; and O’Reilly Build LLC was acquired.
