Branson Airport adds Atlanta flight

Posted online
Air passengers out of Branson's new airport will have more opportunities to fly to and from Atlanta.

The airport announced Tuesday that AirTran Airways has added another daily round-trip flight to and from Atlanta. The second flight will leave Branson daily at 1:45 p.m., with a flight from Atlanta arriving at 8:25 p.m.

"Passenger traffic through Atlanta has exceeded our expectations, so we're grateful to AirTran Airways for adding a second daily flight," Jeff Bourk, executive director of the Branson Airport, said in a news release.

AirTran also announced limited-time discounted fares from Branson via Atlanta to numerous destinations, including Milwaukee; Orlando, Fla.; New York; Chicago; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; New Orleans and Houston. Tickets must be purchased by Thursday.

The new flight to Atlanta coincides with AirTran cutting its direct flights to Milwaukee as part of a companywide reduction in flight numbers.
