The Gas Buster discount card offers $50 in discounts to participating Branson-area hotels, restaurants, retailers, shows and attractions – and the chance to win a grand-prize three-night Branson getaway for four – in exchange for $40 in gas receipts.
Through Labor Day, visitors who obtain the cards will now be entered in a weekly drawing for $76 in gas money. Named for Branson’s noted Highway 76 entertainment district, $76 winnings will be presented each week to the 76th person who seeks a Gas Busters card at each of the two Branson Chamber/CVB welcome centers.
“The number of visitors obtaining the Gas Buster cards has more than doubled since 2005, strong evidence that people are looking for relief from high gas prices and ways to stretch their vacation dollars,” said Lynn Berry, director of public relations for the Branson CVB, in a news release. “We don’t want gas prices to prevent a great family vacation.”
The CVB welcome centers are open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Sundays. One center is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 248; the other is at the intersection of Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 160.
While the $76 drawing promotion ends Labor Day, the Gas Buster program runs through Oct. 31. A list of participating businesses and sponsors is available at www.explorebranson.com.
