Branson adds five destinations through public charters

Posted online
Branson Airport is adding five destinations in the South and Midwest through a public charter flight service announced Tuesday morning.

Passengers will be able to fly nonstop from Branson to Austin and Houston, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; Shreveport, La.; and Terra Haute, Ind. The new service, which begins May 17, will fly under the name Branson AirExpress through a partnership with ExpressJet Airlines Inc.

Flights will be scheduled five days a week to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, William P. Hobby Airport in Houston and Des Moines International Airport, as well as three days a week to Shreveport Regional Airport and Terra Haute International Airport. Passengers also can combine flight segments to create connections between any of the partner airports, according to an airport news release.

Branson AirExpress will use Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft for the flights, which carry an introductory price of $39 or $49 each way for flights booked by April 17 for travel by June 17. The release said additional destinations will be announced in coming months.

"What a wonderful way to celebrate our one-year anniversary in May," Executive Director Jeff Bourk said in the release. "This is an exciting time for us and our partner airports as this service will provide travelers flexibility, convenience and low fares when flying to and from Branson or any of the connecting cities.”

Branson Airport offers direct service through AirTran Airways to Atlanta and Orlando, Fla., and the airline will be adding service to Denver in April.[[In-content Ad]]
