Brady suspended, Pats fined for 'Deflategate'

Posted online
The “Deflategate” incident may have cost the Indianapolis Colts a shot at this year’s Super Bowl, but now it’s costing the champions something too.

Tuesday, the NFL suspended quarterback Tom Brady for four games and fined the New England Patriots $1 million. The team also was stripped of its first round selection in the 2016 draft and its fourth-round pick in the 2017 draft.

A report by the league-hired attorney who investigated the incident found it probable Brady was “aware of the inappropriate activities" of a locker room attendant and equipment assistant who are suspected of tampering with the game balls.

Brady’s suspension applies to the first four games of the 2015 season, but allows him to participate in the Patriots’ training camp and preseason games, according to CNN.
