Boy Scouts of America proposes sex-abuse settlement

The Boy Scouts of America proposed a settlement to sex-abuse victims through a bankruptcy plan filed Monday.

The organization is offering cash, artwork and other assets in an effort to settle claims by 85,000 people who allege they were sexually abused when they were children in the Boy Scouts.

Boy Scouts of America turned to bankruptcy more than a year ago as it faced roughly 275 sex-abuse lawsuits.
