Bottled water close to beating soda as most consumed beverage

Bottled water is closing to overtaking soda as the most consumed beverage in the United States.

Between 2000 and 2015, bottled water consumption grew 120 percent, according to a report from Beverage Marketing.

Carbonated beverages have slowly fallen out of favor, going down 16 percent in the same time period.

The company expects Americans to be drinking more bottled water than soda by early 2017.
