The ownership group behind the NBA champion Boston Celtics is putting the team up for sale.
Boston Basketball Partners LLC, controlled by the Grousbeck family, intends to sell the majority of its shares in the team this year or early next year.
“The controlling family of the ownership group, after considerable thought and internal discussion, has decided to sell the team for estate and family planning considerations,” a statement announcing the plans reads.
