Book deal falls apart for parodist of Goldman

John Lefevre developed a large enough following as an anonymous author of a Twitter account that mocked purported conversations overheard in an elevator at Goldman Sachs that he was handed a fat book deal in January.

In February, his identity was revealed, as was the fact he’s never actually worked at Goldman, and the backlash was swift and severe. At first, his publisher stated it would still release the book. But on Thursday, the deal was revoked. Publisher Touchstone won’t say why, and Lefevre says the book will be published regardless of whether Touchstone is involved or not.
