Bolivar Technical College signs degree deal

Posted online
Bolivar Technical College entered an articulation agreement with St. Louis-based Chamberlain College of Nursing allowing students of the local school to seek higher degrees.

Through the deal, BTC’s registered nurse graduates can use their credits toward degrees online or on campus at CCON and only pay 90 percent of the required tuition. BTC graduates can use their credits at the Bolivar college for up to 77 proficiency credit hours at CCON, or roughly 60 percent of the required hours needed to earn a bachelor’s of science in nursing, according to a news release.

“If students want to continue their education as nurses, this makes their transition seamless and more cost effective,” BTC President Charlotte Gray said in the release. “We consistently strive to ensure our students have every opportunity to advance themselves in and out of our school regardless of bureaucracy or unnecessary roadblocks. This agreement helps us do that.”

The agreement became effective earlier this month. BTC has similar agreements in place with University of Phoenix, Kaplan University and Southwest Baptist University, according to the release.
