Boeing and Uber are among 21 businesses and organizations on board with Japan's flying car plan.
Others, including Airbus and a Toyota Motor Corp.-backed startup called Cartivator, are seeking to help Japan bring airborne vehicles to the country in the next decade.
“The Japanese government will provide appropriate support to help realize the concept of flying cars, such as creation of acceptable rules,” officials with Japan's trade ministry said.
