Boeing to hire up to 400 for new R&D centers in STL

Posted online
Boeing plans to add up to 400 new jobs for research and development centers it is looking to open in St. Louis.

The company employs about 15,000 in the St. Louis region. The new jobs will be filed during the next two years primarily with new hires, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

The jobs are unrelated to the production of Boeing's 777X aircraft. The company hasn't yet made its decision on where it will locate its plant for that project.

The Associated Press reports union leaders and Boeing have been unable to agree on proposals for the 777X work to be done in the Seattle area.
