Boeing to cut over 4,500 jobs

Boeing Co. yesterday announced plans to cut more than 4,500 jobs by June.

Officials said the reasoning is to cut costs as customers demand less expensive jetliners.

The bulk of the cuts would be 2,400 jobs in the company's commercial unit, as well as 1,600 via voluntary layoffs.
