Boeing moving defense HQ to DC from STL

Boeing Co. has plans to relocate its Defense, Space and Security unit to Washington, D.C., from the St. Louis area.

Leanne Caret, the new CEO of Boeing's defense unit, is spearheading the move to get more time with federal decision-makers.

The move will take effect Jan. 3 and initially include 12 executives. St. Louis will still have some 14,000 Boeing employees.
