A Boeing Co. executive has signed on to keynote the Missouri Association of Manufacturers’ first Made in Missouri awards conference.
Obie Jones, who works as vice president of Boeing Military Aircraft in St. Louis, is scheduled to speak at the
Oct. 2 event in Chesterfield. Jones also serves as site leader for Boeing’s St. Louis, St. Charles and St. Clair locations, according to a news release.
During the event, Springfield-based MAM is slated to present awards to 18 companies recognizing community contributions, technology and innovation, best practices, environmental work, employee safety and engagement, advocacy and workforce development.
Judges from manufacturers statewide evaluated the nominees. They include Dave Simpson, president of Holloway America in Springfield; Daren Davison, human resources director for La-Z-Boy Midwest in Neosho; Rob Dixon, former Springfield chamber executive, who now leads the Missouri Community College Association in Jefferson City; John Gentry, president of Positronic Industries in Springfield; and Ron Guinn, executive vice president of SRC Holdings in Springfield.
