A Boeing 737 Max 8 jet flown by Southwest Airlines made an emergency landing yesterday afternoon at Orlando International Airport.
The plane, which did not have any passengers, was headed for Victorville, California, for storage.
“The crew of Southwest Airlines Flight 8701, a Boeing 737 Max aircraft, declared an emergency after the aircraft experienced a reported engine problem while departing from Orlando International Airport in Florida about 2:50 p.m. today,” a statement from Southwest Airlines reads. “The aircraft returned and landed safely in Orlando."
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
Authorities continue to examine the 737 Max 8 after two deadly crashes involving the aircraft.
