Bob Weinstein steps down from movie studio board

Bob Weinstein stepped down from The Weinstein Co.'s board of directors.

"In the face of intense public scrutiny, this board steered the company to an orderly sale and maximized value for the company and its creditors. The company thanks the outgoing board members for their hard work and contributions," said Ivona Smith, a bankruptcy consultant currently assisting with the sale to Lantern Capital.

Bob Weinstein, with brother Harvey, founded the movie studio in 2005. Harvey Weinstein was ousted over multiple sexual assault charges.
