BNSF plans $153M in Mo. railroad improvements

BNSF Railway plans to invest $153 million to improve and maintain its tracks, rails and crossings in Missouri, the company said this week.

It's part of a larger effort to spend $6 billion nationwide this year, according to KOLR10 News.

In Missouri, BNSF will resurface 1,303 miles of track, replace over 60 miles of rail and close to 184,500 ties, as well as upgrade signals. The company also will build two new sidings between Elsberry and Ashburn and an extension in Gibbs.
