BNSF Railway Co. asked a federal court to require victims of a deadly Amtrak crash in Missouri to pursue settlements through arbitration, The Associated Press reports.
BNSF owns the railroad tracks used by Amtrak when a train this summer collided with a truck blocking an intersection near Mendon. The accident caused four deaths and dozens of injuries.
Forced arbitration would mean lawsuits would not be used in settlements related to the accident.
